GETTING STARTED

setting the grill

Place the grill body on a flat and stable surface outside.

We do not recommend a plastic table or near anything flammable.

Insert the charcoal box with the charcoal grate.

how to light charcoal

A charcoal chimney starter is used to light charcoal without the need for lighter fluid.

step 1

Fill the bottom chamber of the starter with newspaper.

Place the chimney on top of the bottom chamber and fill it with charcoal.

Light the newspaper in the bottom chamber using a match or a lighter.

step 2

As the newspaper burns, it will heat the charcoal in the chimney above. This will cause the charcoal to light and begin to burn.

Wait 30 minutes while you prepare the food.

step 3

Once the charcoal is fully lit and covered in gray ash, it's ready to be dumped into your grill.

Carefully pour the lit charcoal into the charcoal box and spread it out evenly.

start grilling

Since everything fits and slides together seamlessly, your only goal is to cook your food.

step 1

After the charcoal is inside the charcoal box, place a grate of your choice on top of the grill.

step 2

Attach the top rack if needed.

step 3

Now you are all ready to start grilling!

after care

Cleaning your grill after use will extend the life of the grill and make it ready for your next grilling adventure.

step 1

Allow the grill to cool down completely before removing any charcoal or ash.

If you are using additive-free wood charcoal, you can use it as a ferterlizer and dump the ash in your garden.

step 2

Only use mild soap and warm water with a sponge or brush to clean the grill or grates. Avoid using any harsh chemical cleaners.

step 3

Finally, store your SHIFU grill in a dry, covered location to protect it from the elements and ensure that it stays in top condition for years to come.
