Korean Beef Bulgogi Skewers
Beef Bulgogi is a popular Korean BBQ dish that is sweet, savory, and full of flavor. Here's a recipe for making it at home with the SHIFU grill:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound thin-sliced beef (such as sirloin or ribeye)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon mirin (or rice wine)
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, mirin, ginger, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Add the beef to the marinade, making sure that each slice is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours for maximum flavor.
- Thread the beef slices onto skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes before using).
- Grill the beef skewers for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked to your liking.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Serve with steamed rice and Korean side dishes such as kimchi or pickled radish for a complete meal.
