Tandoori Chicken Skewers

Tandoori chicken skewers are a delicious and flavorful dish that originates from the Indian subcontinent. Here's a recipe for Tandoori chicken skewers:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes before using)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, making sure that each cube is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for maximum flavor.
  3. Thread the chicken cubes onto skewers.
  4. Grill the chicken skewers for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. Remove the skewers from the grill and serve with wedges of lemon and chopped cilantro as a garnish.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

Serve with a side of naan bread or basmati rice to complete the meal.

Note: Be careful not to over-cook the chicken or it will become dry and less flavorful. Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper according to your preference.
