Classic Cheeseburger
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- Optional toppings (lettuce, tomato, cheese, ketchup, mustard, etc.)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form each portion into a patty.
- Use your thumb to make a small dimple in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while grilling.
- Place the patties on the SHIFU grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer them more well done.
- During the last minute of cooking, add cheese to the patties if desired.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the SHIFU grill for a minute or two.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun bottom and adding your desired toppings.
- Enjoy!
Note: Make sure to use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the burgers for safety. Cooked burgers should reach at least 160°F.
